Class A- So Bad

No stranger to the rap game, Class A was in 2008 and 2009 voted Australia’s Best Female MC in the Oz Hip-Hop.com Awards after several independent releases; 2007’s ‘Class In Session’ mixtape and 2008’s ‘Class With Parker’ EP garnered her national attention.

This quick rise to prominence has seen her share stages with such international luminaries as Dilated Peoples, Jean Grae, Talib Kweli, Gift of Gab and J-Live, as well as national stalwarts The Hilltop Hoods, Urthboy, Mantra & Ozi Batla.

A relentless work ethic and string of momentum-building live shows has Class A currently galvanising a loyal audience of both hip hop fans and lovers of Australian indie music across the country in anticipation of her forthcoming debut album, ‘Me, Me, Me and Him: The Secret Life of a Receptionist’

Class A’s debut record ‘Me, Me, Me and Him: The Secret Life of a Receptionist’ blends tales of wit, heartache and self discovery, all told by a cheeky lyricist with the demeanor of an office chick who yearns for a more exciting life in another world.

Me, Me, Me and Him: The Secret Life Of A Receptionist’ makes use of both bass heavy electronic production and lo-fi hip hop from some of the countries leading beatsmiths, such as M-Phazes (Amerie, Pharoahe Monch), BVA (Mnemonic Ascent), Urban Monk (Polo Club) and Doc Felix, to showcase a persona that is reassuringly normal, all the while maintaining a tone of down-to-earth honesty and originality.

The first single from Class A's forthcoming long-player, 'Me, Me, Me & Him: The Secret Life of a Receptionist'. In stores September 17th, 2010.

The Tongue- The Show

The Tongue is one hell of an MC.
He is diverse (has collaborated with Urthboy, Bertie Blackman, The Bag Raiders, Katalyst, Braintax (UK), Georgia Anne Muldrow (USA), Gift Of Gab (USA), Muph And Plutonic etc), prolific (EP "Bad Education", LP "Shock And Awe", two mixtapes) and renowned for his impressive live show (as seen at Big Day Out, Sydney Festival and Good Vibrations)..
After forging a reputation as fierce battle MC (and representing Australia at the 'Battle 4 Supremacy' in 2005) The Tongue was signed to Sydney label Elefant Traks. His debut EP spawned two hit singles "The Punch" and "Bad Education" both which received heavy rotation on JJJ. The following year saw his breakthrough debut album "Shock And Awe" released, and riding the success of jazzy love song "Real Thing" his tour sold out 10 shows around the nation. The following 12 months saw his reputation grow as he scored support slots for international acts such as Public Enemy, De La Soul, Pharoahe Monch and Dizzie Rascal.
Since then The Tongue has kept himself busy in a variety of ways; appearing on the "Elefant Traks 10th Anniversary DVD", releasing two album-length mixtapes "Redux" and "The Tongue Is Dead" (available at thetongue.com.au), performing spoken words sets at the Melbourne Poetry Festival and touring as a back-up vocalist with label-mates Astronomy Class.

The Tongue is back with a brand-new single 'The Show' taken from his hotly anticipated album Alternative Energy, out Sept 10 on Elefant Traks.

Forthwrite (360 & Pez)

ForthWrite consists of 360 & Pez, two of Melbourne’s finest young hip-hop talents united by a common cause … to break down stereotypes and to make the best damn rap music this side of the equator.

360 is a battle veteran, having represented Australia at the prestigious 2007 JumpOff World Rap Championships in New York City and taking out second place at the coveted 2007 Revolver MC Battle.

Pez is your favourite emcee’s favourite emcee. His stellar guest spots on recent mixtapes by 2007 Victorian DMC champion DJ A-Style and underground mixmaster Frank Force are the stuff of legend.

Together, the boys have dominated Melbourne’s live scene with high-profile appearances alongside US acts Vanilla Ice, Atmosphere, Brother Ali, Louis Logic, Akrobatik and RA The Rugged Man, and primetime spots at the St Kilda Festival, Pushover Festival and Nurcha Fest. Their on-stage antics are never short of thoroughly entertaining.

Got Beef Rap battles- Justice & 360 VS Madness & TheSaurus

An older battle but on of my favourites. Probably the best rap battle in Australia. jus' sayin

Australian Duo Justice & 360 take on the Americans Madness & TheSaurus. It is the first rematch between TheSaurus and Justice since their legendary battle in Skribble Jam 05 where Justice was victor.

The video is almost 20 minutes long but i promise you it won't disappoint.

Horrorshow- Thoughtcrime (Doin' My Think)

Horrorshow are a two-piece Hip-Hop group from Sydney, Australia, with Solo (aka Kid Solo) as emcee and Adit providing the beats as DJ. Both from the inner-west suburbs of Sydney, at only 19 years old they began writing their music and are now among the most recent signings to independent Australian Hip-Hop label Elefant Traks

Elefant Traks is proud to announce details for Inside Story, the second album from hip hop wonderkids Horrorshow which will be released on October 2nd.

The first single Thoughtcrime (Doin’ My Think) has been well received  with a somewhat odd video clip. It features fellow Aussie Hip Hop Artists, Illy, Muph, DJ Bonez.

The video for Thoughtcrime is notedly low-key and somewhat DIY. A trio of blandly dressed thoughtcops are out to snag Kid Solo and Adit for making music outside of the mainstream, but that whole plan backfires as their continual rapping gets the thoughtcops into the groove  while the Horrorshow boys make their getaway.
